Both Yannick Hanfmann and Quentin Halys possess big serves that are well suited to the fast, high-altitude conditions in Kitzbuhel. Neither player has dropped a set on the way to the semifinals, highlighting the level both have produced this week. With their serving ability and the conditions favoring quick points, another closely contested match featuring tight sets and a possible tiebreak looks likely. Hanfmann, however, has a stronger record in altitude events and has enjoyed notable success in Kitzbuhel, giving him a slight edge.

Halys Eyes A Career-Defining Victory

  • Yannick Hanfmann holds a 1–2 career record in tour-level semifinals.
  • He has a 19–7 record against players outside the Top 100.
  • Quentin Halys owns a 1–2 career record in tour-level semifinals.
  • He has a 22–11 record against players outside the Top 50.

Hanfmann Produces Statement Performance

Yannick Hanfmann booked his place in the Kitzbuhel semifinals with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 victory over Sebastian Baez. The German fired six aces and saved all four break points he faced, producing one of his most complete performances of the season.

This is Hanfmann's third semifinal in Kitzbuhel. He finished runner-up in 2020, before falling in the semifinals to Filip Misolic (2022) and Matteo Berrettini (2024). He now has another opportunity to reach the final at one of his most successful events.

This is the breakthrough result Hanfmann had been waiting for after a difficult four-month spell. While he had remained competitive in many tournaments, he repeatedly failed to put together deep runs.

Before this week, he had failed to win back-to-back main-draw matches in his previous 10 events, with his best results during that period being a runner-up finish in Santiago and a quarterfinal in Marrakech.

Halys Extends Upset Streak in Kitzbuhel

Quentin Halys secured his place in the semifinals after producing three consecutive straight-set upsets, including impressive victories over Valentin Vacherot and Mariano Navone in his most recent matches.

After a slow start to the season, the Frenchman has steadily rediscovered his form. He reached the fourth round in Miami, the third round at Roland Garros, and followed that with quarterfinal appearances in Eastbourne and Gstaad, carrying that momentum into Kitzbuhel.

This is Halys' fourth ATP Tour semifinal, where he holds a 1-2 career record. He will now be aiming to reach his second ATP Tour final and continue the best run of his clay-court season.
