Carabelli Secures Comeback Victory

Camilo Ugo Carabelli moved into the second round in Miami with a comeback win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. He was broken three times but converted two of his five break-point chances to seal the match.

The Argentine had already picked up his first hard-court win of the season in Indian Wells, defeating Martin Damm before losing to Brandon Nakashima in the next round.

His best results this year have come on clay, reaching the quarterfinal in Buenos Aires and winning the Rosario Challenger title. Outside of those, he has struggled for wins.

Carabelli holds a 1-5 record in second-round matches at Masters level. His only win at this stage came in Miami last year.

Korda Continues Upward Trend

Sebastian Korda had a slow start to the season, losing in the first round of two of his first three events, including the Australian Open. He then dropped down to the Challenger level to rebuild form.

That decision paid off as he reached the final in San Diego, followed by a quarterfinal in Dallas and a title run in Delray Beach, helping him return to the top 50.

He carried that momentum into Indian Wells, where he reached the second round before losing to Alex de Minaur from a set up.

Korda is making his fifth Miami appearance and holds a perfect 4-0 record in opening rounds. He has reached the quarterfinal twice, including last year.
