Lehecka Battles Into Third Round

Jiri Lehecka defeated Alejandro Tabilo 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 to reach the third round in Monte Carlo. It was his second three-set win of the week after beating Emilio Nava in the opening round.

The Czech had a slow start to the season and dropped out of the top 20 after failing to defend points in Australia. However, he bounced back strongly by reaching the final in Miami, where he lost to Jannik Sinner.

That run helped him achieve a career-high ranking of No. 13 and boosted his confidence. He is now one win away from reaching his second Masters quarterfinal.

Bublik Looks To Regain Rhythm

Alexander Bublik has enjoyed an impressive rise since last year’s clay season, posting nine quarterfinal-or-better results over the past 12 months, including five finals. Strong Grand Slam runs at the Australian Open and US Open helped him break into the top 10.

However, he has struggled in recent weeks, suffering three consecutive early exits that have disrupted his momentum. He will look to rebuild confidence this week.

Bublik holds a 3-3 record in round-of-16 matches at Masters events, with his most recent win at this stage coming against Taylor Fritz in Paris last year.

Verdict

The edge is clearly with Lehecka. Lehecka to win is the main pick, with under 2.5 sets also fitting well given the likelihood of a one-sided match if one player takes early control.
