Raphael Collignon comfortably beat Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets earlier this year, and since then, he has only gained more experience on the main tour. With Dimitrov not showing significant improvement, this matchup could again favor the younger player.

Collignon Eyes Breakthrough Moment

  • Collignon is 0–2 in Masters matches including qualifying.
  • She has a 2–3 record vs Top 50 players in 2026.

Collignon Looks To Step Up

Raphael Collignon has been consistent on the Challenger circuit but has struggled to replicate that level on the main tour, as reflected in his recent results.

He began the season with a quarterfinal in Brisbane, but his other tour-level events ended with early exits, including the Australian Open and Indian Wells. However, he found success on the Challenger tour, winning the title in Pau and reaching the quarterfinal in Cap Cana.

Collignon has limited experience at Masters level, with both appearances ending without wins. He lost in Rome qualifying in 2025 and fell in the first round to Joao Fonseca in Indian Wells earlier this month.

Dimitrov Builds Competitive Rhythm

Grigor Dimitrov ended his 2025 season early due to injury and returned in January. He is still searching for top form but has been competitive in most matches.

He has played five tournaments this year, winning just two matches with second-round finishes in Brisbane and Indian Wells. In three of his losses, he pushed matches to a deciding set or tiebreak.

Dimitrov holds a strong 10-4 record in Miami opening rounds. He has enjoyed success here recently, reaching the final in 2024 and the semifinal in 2025.

Verdict

There is value in backing Collignon to win, with Collignon to win at least one set also looking like a strong option here.
