The Panthers lead the league in points per game, and just like during the regular season meeting, they are likely to hang plenty of points on this underwhelming Defenders defense.

DC Defenders Form
DC enter the UFL Championship Game having won seven of their 11 games to make it to The Dome at America’s Center.
The Defenders suffered a big setback on the eve of the season as they lost their head coach, but they responded with an 18-11 upset of defending champions Birmingham on opening night, and backed that up by beating Memphis 17-12 and St Louis 27-15.
Their perfect start was ended by a 24-18 loss to San Antonio, and they then failed to follow up a 37-33 victory in Arlington as they lost 38-14 in Michigan.
DC avenged that previous loss to San Antonio though, as they rallied with a 32-24 victory at The Alamodome, and that was followed by a 33-30 win over Arlington that secured a playoff place.
With nothing to play for the Defenders lost their final two regular season games, 24-21 in Houston and 13-8 at home to St Louis, but when things got serious again they returned to winning ways.
They ruined St Louis’ dream of playing in the UFL Championship Game at home, as they silenced the dome with a 36-18 victory in the XFL Conference Championship.
Michigan Panthers Form
Michigan also go into the UFL Championship Game having won seven of their 11 games this season.
The Panthers made a winning start to the campaign as they won 26-12 in Memphis on opening weekend, but they failed to back that up as they lost their home opener to Birmingham, 21-12.
They bounced back quickly by beating San Antonio 26-23 and Memphis 27-9, only to miss out on a third consecutive victory as they were beaten 32-27 in St Louis.
Again Michigan responded swiftly to a setback, beating DC 38-14 at home, and they backed that up with a 25-24 victory over Arlington and a 30-18 success against Houston to ensure their place in the postseason.
The Panthers then closed out the regular season with back-to-back defeats, losing 26-22 in Birmingham and 19-12 at home to Houston.
However, just like DC they made a return to winning ways when it mattered, ending Birmingham’s lengthy dominance of spring football with a 44-29 victory over the Stallions in the USFL Conference Championship.
Verdict
Michigan ended the Stallions Spring football reign in impressive fashion, and we now expect them to replace Birmingham as UFL champions.
The DC defense has struggled to keep out opposition offenses this season, and that spells trouble against a Panthers team that has led the league in points per game and just hung 44 on Birmingham.
