Houston continue to top the South Division, but they have now lost three straight games to fall to 4-3.
The Roughnecks opened the season with three consecutive home games and ran out winners in all of them.
They blew out Orlando 33-12, before beating Arlington 23-14 and San Antonio 22-13 in a couple of all-Texas clashes.
Houston then made it four-in-a-row with a one-sided 44-16 victory in Orlando, only to see their streak end with a 21-14 defeat in Seattle.
The Roughnecks then lost 37-26 in DC, before returning home for a 24-15 defeat to St Louis last weekend.
San Antonio Brahmas Form
San Antonio come into this game in desperate need of a win after falling to 2-5 with last weekend’s loss.
The Brahmas’ first ever game ended in disappointment as the blew a sizeable late lead to lose 18-15 to St Louis.
They rebounded a week later to beat Orlando 30-12, only to then lose three consecutive games.
San Antonio lost 22-13 in Houston and 15-6 in Seattle, before returning to the Alamodome for a 12-10 defeat to Arlington.
The Brahmas avenged that loss with a 15-9 win against the Renegades a week later, but they failed to follow that up in Week 7 as they lost 26-12 in Vegas.
Verdict
Houston’s form has nose-dived, but this is a good chance for them to get back on track.
San Antonio continue to struggle offensively and have not made the Alamodome a fortress this season.
