Ben DiNucci was intercepted by Michael Joseph, who returned it for a score and sparked a fightback that saw the Defenders run out 22-18 winners.
Seattle then entertained the St Louis Battlehawks in their home opener and again blew a lead.
The Sea Dragons led 18-17 with less than two minutes to go, but allowed the Battlehawks to get into field goal range and kick a 44-yarder to win it 20-18.
Vegas Vipers Form
Vegas come into this Week 3 matchup as one of three teams yet to record a victory this season.
The Vipers made a promising start as they led 14-3 heading into half-time in the season-opener at Arlington.
However, quarterback Luis Perez threw two pick sixes in the second half and that allowed the Renegades to come storming back to win 22-20.
Vegas then dropped their home opener to the DC Defenders, 18-6, in horrible conditions last weekend.
The Vipers benched Perez in that loss, replacing him with late offseason signing Brett Hundley, who is expected to start here.
