The Rays have lost 4 of 6 and are 5-5 in their last 10 games. Tampa Bay is 45-29 on the road and 33-25 vs. LHPs.

Wacha has produced his best back-to-back-to-back starts in his last three outings as he limited all three opponents to three hits and allowed no more than two runs while striking out six in each contest.

Toronto (81-64) is tied with both the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox for second place in the AL East. Those three teams are also in a dead heat for the league’s wild card spots.

The Blue Jays have won 4 of 6 and are 8-2 in the last 10 games. Toronto is 40-30 at home and 60-44 vs. RHPs.

Ray has been fantastic during the second half of the season, producing a 4-1 record with a 2.08 ERA and 0.990 WHIP to go along with 11.6 K/9. However, the 29-year-old is coming off one of his shortest outings of the season as he allowed 8 hits and three runs over 4.1 innings of work.

Tampa Bay evened the three-game series at 1-1 with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday night as Ji-Man Choi and Brandon Lowe went deep while Drew Rasmussen (3-1) combined with four relievers to hold the Blue Jays to just three hits. Toronto rapped out 17 hits and tallied 8 runs in Monday’s victory.

The Rays snapped a two-game losing streak to the Blue Jays on Tuesday and leads the season-series 9-6, which includes winning 6 of 9 at the Rogers Centre. The Jays have outscored the Rays 69-66 in the series.

Tampa Bay is not really in form, but the Rays have the best record in the AL for a reason as they grind things. The Rays rely on timely hitting and the majors third best bullpen, which has struggled over the last couple of weeks.

Offensively, Tampa Bay has been inconsistent of late and Wacha, who is prone to giving up the long ball, has been awful on the road and during road game as he has an ERA of 6.00 in both situations.
Toronto is playing its best baseball of the season and the Blue Jays have the best offense in the majors. The Jays, who have swung the bats well all season against the Rays, is batting .273 at the Rogers Centre and producing a .854 OPS during day contests.

Plus, Ray has done an excellent job of keeping the ball in the yard over the last two months and has been fantastic against the Rays this season allowing just six runs and striking out 33 in four starts.
