Indianapolis Colts Form

Indianapolis have rebounded from a miserable start to the season to put themselves on the brink of hitting .500.

The Colts fell to a 28-16 defeat at home to Seattle on opening day and were then beaten 27-24 when they hosted the Los Angeles Rams a week later.

Their losing skid hit three games when they were beaten 26-15 in Tennessee in Week 3.

Indy stopped the rot though with a 27-17 win over Miami and then ran Baltimore close in a 31-25 OT loss.

They did make a return to winning ways last weekend, winning a one-sided clash with Houston 31-3.

QB Carson Wentz is 124/193 for 1,545 yards, nine touchdowns and just one interception.

Michael Pittman Jr has been his favorite target with 31 catches for 403 yards and a score, but Zach Pascal and Mo Alie-Cox lead the team in receiving TDs with three-apiece.

The key to this offense are the running backs. Jonathan Taylor has 682 yards from scrimmage and five TDs, while Nyheim Hines has chipped in with 234 all-purpose yards and a score.

San Francisco 49ers Form

San Francisco opened the season with back-to-back wins but it has been all downhill since then.

The 49ers fended off a late fightback to win 41-33 in Detroit and then bested the Eagles 17-11 in Philadelphia.

Their perfect start was brought to a halt by a 30-28 loss to Green Bay in their home opener.

San Francisco then fell to Seattle 28-21 and Arizona 17-10 to enter their bye week with a 2-3 record.

The 49ers have had injury problems at quarterback so Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance have both season playing time this season.

Garoppolo is 78/118 for 925 yards, five touchdowns and two picks, while Lance is 25/48 for 354 yards, three TDs and a pick. Lance also has 133 rushing yards and a score.

Despite the issues at quarterback, Deebo Samuel has racked up 548 yards receiving and three TDs.

The problem is that George Kittle is the only other player above 135 yards receiving and he remains on the sidelines.

San Francisco do not have a standout running back too with no back yet to go over 200 yards rushing.

San Francisco 49ers Injury Report

  • DT Maurice Hurst (calf) - Out
  • LB Marcelll Harris (thumb) - Questionable
  • QB Tray Lance (knee) - Doubtful
  • T Trent Williams (ankle, elbow) - Doubtful
  • DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) - Out

Verdict

Indianapolis have improved in recent weeks and have found some form on both sides of the football.

San Francisco have injury problems at QB, remain without George Kittle, and their running backs are making little impact.

The 49ers are also 0-2 at home, so the Colts are tipped to – at worst – cover on Sunday Night Football.
