Seattle Kraken at Nashville Predators Picks & Betting Tips – Predators To Win Home Opener

This is the first meeting ever between the Kraken and Predators.

Seattle is coming off a 4-3 road setback to Vegas on Tuesday. The Kraken fell behind 3-0 after 26:43 of play. Seattle fought back with three unanswered goals to knot the game 7:58 into the third period but the Golden Knights retook the lead 35 seconds later on a Chandler Stephens goal.

The Kraken outshot (31-30) and out-hit the Golden Knights (33-26).

Seattle was 0-for-3 on the power play.

Seattle’s defense was 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

F Ryan Donato, C Jared McCann and C Morgan Geekie lead the team with one goal apiece.

D Vince Dunn, RW Jonas Donskai, RW Jordan Eberle, LW Jaden Schwartz, and D Jeremy Lauzon each have one assist.

Nashville went 31-23-2 to finish fourth in the Central division to reach the postseason for the seventh straight season. The Predators lost to Carolina 4-2 in the first round of the playoffs.

Nashville went 18-10 at home last year.

The Predators signed defenseman Mattias Ekholm to a 4-year, $25 million contract extension on Wednesday. The 31-year-old finished second among the Preds’ defensemen with 23 points last year and has produced 20 or more points in six straight years.

Nashville brought in several key newcomers -- including G David Rittich, D Phillippe Myers,  C Cody Glass, RW Matt Luff --  this offseason.

The Predators lost G Pekke Rinna, D Ryan Ellis, RW Viktor Arvidsson, D Erik Gudbranson, RW Erik Haula, C Brad Richardson and F Calle Jarnkrok during the offseason.

LW Filip Forsberg is someone to keep an eye on. The 27-year-old produced 14 goals and 21 assists in 45 games (regular and postseason).

G Juuse Saros is coming off a career season with a 21-11-1 record with a 2.28 GAA along with a .927 save percentage.
