BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers Preview & Picks
Winnipeg are tipped to cover as they progress to the Grey Cup.
The Blue Bombers have covered consistently in recent weeks and have been a solid spread bet at home all season.
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 5-1-0 ATS in their last 6 games
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 7-2-0 ATS at home this season
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 2-1-0 ATS against BC Lions this season
- The Over has cashed in 10 of Winnipeg’s last 11 games
Head To Head
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers lead the series 19-14 since 2010
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers won 34-26 in overtime when the two teams last met on October 6
BC Lions Form
BC enter the West Division Final in mixed form, having gone 2-2 in their last four games.
The Lions raced out of the blocks with three consecutive wins, including a shock 30-6 victory in Winnipeg.
They cooled off over the next couple of months though and blew their chances of home field advantage when they lost 34-26 in overtime to Winnipeg on October 6.
BC bounced back a week later to win 33-30 in Hamilton, only to get blown out 41-16 when they hosted Calgary in their regular season finale.
The Lions got revenge in the West Semi-Final though, beating the Stampeders 41-30 last weekend.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg are riding a four-game win streak that saw them clinch the West Division and receive a playoff bye.
The Blue Bombers won nine of their first 11 games as a postseason berth never looked to be in doubt.
They did drop a couple of games in September, losing 32-30 in overtime in Saskatchewan and 29-23 at Hamilton, but their response was strong.
Winnipeg bounced back from the loss to Hamilton by beating Toronto 31-21 in a rematch from last season’s Grey Cup.
The Blue Bombers then beat BC 34-26 in overtime, Edmonton 45-25 and Calgary 36-13 to finish 14-4 and win the division.
Verdict
Winnipeg slipped up against BC early in the season, but they have had the Lions’ number since then.
The Blue Bombers have been stacking up covers, especially at home, so we expect them to cover as they secure their place in the Grey Cup.
