Hamilton head out on the road for the first time this season looking to get their first win on the board.

The Tiger-Cats kicked off the campaign at home to Montreal, but came up short in overtime as they were beaten 30-27 by the Alouettes.

They had gone into their season opener having split two pre-season meetings with Toronto.

Hamilton lost the first game against the Argonauts at home, 20-14, but rebounded on the road a week later with a 20-14 success in Toronto.

The Tiger-Cats now head to Winnipeg seeking a first road win over the Blue Bombers since September 2019.

Winnipeg go into their home opener looking to maintain their perfect start to the 2026 campaign.

The Blue Bombers kicked things off on the road last week, and ran out 30-28 winners over the Stampeders in Calgary.

They had gone into that matchup on the back of a winless pre-season campaign that saw them go 0-2.

Winnipeg began pre-season with a 31-27 defeat at the hands of the Roughriders when they visited Saskatchewan.

The Blue Bombers then hosted the BC Lions a week later, and were beaten 30-19 in their final warm-up game for the new season.

Verdict

It has been several years since Hamilton won in Winnipeg – that drought is unlikely to end here.

The Blue Bombers put up a solid first outing as they won in Calgary, and they can back it up in their home opener.
