Winnipeg return from their first bye week of the season looking to back up a win over the BC Lions that improved them to 3-6.
The Blue Bombers have been a constant fixture in recent Grey Cup Finals, but they dug themselves into a big hole at the start of this season.
They lost their first four games, before finally getting off the mark with a 25-16 victory when they hosted Ottawa in early July.
Winnipeg backed that up a week later by beating Calgary 41-37, only to then see their offense stall as they lost 19-9 in regulation at Saskatchewan, and 16-14 in overtime in Toronto.
The Blue Bombers were able to stop the rot before the bye week though, shutting out the BC Lions in a 25-0 victory at home.
BC Lions Form
BC return home looking to end a three-game losing skid that has seen them drop to 5-4 on the season.
The Lions opened up with a 35-27 defeat in Toronto, but rebounded in style with five consecutive victories to kickstart their playoff push.
The last of those five wins came on July 13 though, when they beat Saskatchewan 35-20, and they have not won a game since then.
BC went into the bye week on the back of a 25-24 defeat in Calgary, and when they returned to action they lost 25-0 in Winnipeg.
The Lions’ losing sequence then reached three games last weekend when they travelled to Edmonton and lost 33-16.
Verdict
Winnipeg have been a shadow of their former selves this season, but they did roll over BC a fortnight ago.
The Blue Bombers did not give up a single point as they condemned the Lions to a third straight defeat, so we like them as road favorites in this one.
