Houston Open Preview & Picks - Best PGA Tour Picks For Texas

The Houston Open returns to the PGA Tour schedule after a one-year absence, with a host of the world's best players vying for victory at Memorial Park. Who will take the honors in Texas this weekend?
Tony Finau is back to defend his title after a four-stroke victory over Tyson Alexander in 2022.
Past and present Major winners in the field include Wyndham Clark, Scottie Scheffler, Stewart Cink, Jason Day, Padraig Harrington, Jimmy Walker, and Gary Woodland.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Sahith Theegala
Sahith Theegala had a superb start to his season on the PGA Tour, placing 2nd at the Sentry before he missed the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii and finished T64 at the Farmers Insurance Open.
However, it did not take long for Theegala to bounce back to his best, placing T20 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, 5th at the WM Phoenix Open, T37 at the Genesis Invitational, T6 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T9 at the Players Championship in his subsequent five tournaments.
The 26-year-old American has featured twice at the Houston Open, finishing T61 in 2021 and T22 in 2022.
Theegala will fancy his chances to lift the trophy at Memorial Park come Sunday, as he has had three top-ten results in his last four starts.
Si Woo Kim
Si Woo Kim has been in solid form on the PGA Tour this year, placing T25 at the Sentry, T42 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T25 at the American Express, T14 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T12 at the WM Phoenix Open,
Si Woo Kim had a slight dip in consistency after those performances, finishing T44 at the Genesis Invitational and T30 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational before regaining his touch with a credible T6 overall at the Players Championship.
The 28-year-old Korean has had mixed results at the Houston Open, placing T13 in 2016 and W/D in 2017 before missing the cut in 2020.
Si Woo Kim has improved his game this season and has the form to come out top in Houston.
Tom Hoge
Tome Hoge had a wayward opening four tournaments on the PGA Tour at the start of the year, finishing T38 at the Sentry, MC at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T17 at the American Express and T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open.
However, Hoge bounced back to his best after those performances, placing T6 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T17 at the WM Phoenix Open, 8th at the Genesis Invitational, T28 at the Cognizant Classic, T12 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T54 at the Players Championship.
The 34-year-old American golfer has yet to set the Houston Open alight, with results of T65 in 2015, T65 in 2017, T60 in 2018 and MC in 2019.
Hoge has achieved top results lately and can feature prominently in Texas this weekend.
Jake Knapp
Jake Knapp did not have the best beginning to life on the PGA Tour, finishing T70 at the Sony Open in Hawaii and missing the cut at the American Express before finding excellent form on the golf course.
Knapp placed at the Farmers Insurance Open, T28 at the WM Phoenix Open, victory at the Mexico Open, and T4 at the Cognizant Classic in his subsequent four events before finishing T57 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T45 at the Players Championship.
The rookie American is debuting at the Texas Children's Houston Open this weekend.
Knapp has made a splash since joining the PGA Tour and is the long-shot value bet at the Memorial Park Golf Club.
Verdict
Si Woo Kim has been producing consistent results this year and will fancy his chances to secure victory at the Texas Children's Houston Open this weekend.
Hoge has threatened to win another title lately and offers excellent value at Memorial Park.
Knapp has been in solid form and could surprise the others with his second PGA Tour victory this season.
