Birmingham head out on the road looking to successfully defend the last unbeaten record in the UFL.
The Stallions entered the season as back-to-back USFL champions and the favourites to win the inaugural UFL crown, and they have so far lived up to their billing.
They opened the season on the road and down Arlington 27-14 in a showdown between the two 2023 spring football champions.
Birmingham backed that up with a 20-13 win in Michigan a week later, before marking their home opener with a 33-14 victory over Memphis.
The Stallions then took their record to 4-0 last weekend as they snatched a 20-18 win over the DC Defenders courtesy of a last-gasp field goal.
Houston Roughnecks Form
Houston go into this game with the back-to-back USFL champions looking to build on their first win of the season.
The Roughnecks – then known as the Gamblers – struggled through two seasons in the USFL, and they got off to a rough start in the inaugural UFL campaign.
They were beaten 18-12 when they hosted Memphis in their season-opener, and then dropped their next two games on the road.
Houston travelled to the capital for a 23-18 defeat to the DC Defenders, before heading to Michigan to lose 34-20 to the Panthers.
The Roughnecks finally got off the mark in Week 4 though, as they ground out a 17-9 victory at home to Arlington.
Verdict
Birmingham made harder work of last week than expected, but we still have faith in the Stallions.
They are backed to be too much for a Houston team that won last week, but remains one of the worst in the league.
