RBC Heritage Preview & Picks - Best PGA Tour Golf Picks For South Carolina

A star-studded field of the world's premier golfers converge in South Carolina to contest the RBC Heritage at the Habour Town Golf Links this weekend. Who will win the fifth PGA Tour Signature Event of the season?
Matt Fitzpatrick is back to defend his title after a playoff victory over Jordan Spieth in 2023.
Past and present major winners in the line-up include Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Lucas Glover, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jason Day, Keegan Bradley, Webb Simpson, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, and Gary Woodland.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Rory Mcllroy
Rory McIlroy was in outstanding form on the DP World Tour at the beginning of 2024, placing T2 at the Dubai Invitational and winning the Hero Dubai Desert Classic before returning to the PGA Tour, where he has had limited success by his standards.
McIlroy placed T66 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T24 at the Genesis Invitational, T21 at the Cognizant Classic, T21 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T19 at the Players Championship, 3rd at the Valero Texas Open and T22 at the recent Masters in seven tournaments.
The world's number two-ranked player has made only two appearances at the RBC Heritage over his illustrious career, finishing T58 in 2009 and T41 in 2020.
McIlroy has yet to hit his stride on the PGA Tour this season but will have a chance to win the tournament in South Carolina if he can rediscover the form he showed at the start of the year.
Tommy Fleetwood
Tommy Fleetwood had an excellent beginning to his year on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, with results of T47 at the Sentry, victory at the Dubai Invitational and T14 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
Fleetwood's subsequent four events produced mixed results, finishing T31 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T10 at the Genesis Invitational, MC at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T35 at the Players Championship before rediscovering his touch on the golf course when placing T7 at the Valero Texas Open and T3 at the Masters last weekend.
The world's number-eleventh-ranked golfer will debut at the 2024 RBC Heritage this weekend.
Fleetwood is in great touch and will fancy his chances to secure the victory at the Harbour Town Golf Links.
Will Zalatoris
Will Zalatoris did not have the best beginning to his 2024 PGA Tour season, with results of MC at the Sony Open in Hawaii and T34 at the American Express.
However, Zalatoris returned to form after those performances, placing T13 at the Farmers Insurance Open, T2 at the Genesis Invitational, and 4th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Zalatoris struggled to maintain his level of play in his following two tournaments, missing the cut at the Players Championship and finishing T74 at the Texas Children's Houston Open before producing a solid T9 result at the Masters last weekend.
The 27-year-old American finished T42 on debut at the 2021 RBC Heritage.
Zalatoris has been showing signs he is ready to win another PGA Tour title after his displays.
Cameron Young
Cameron Young had a decent start to his season on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, finishing T33 at the Sentry, 3rd at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, and 70th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am before finding his touch, placing T8 at the WM Phoenix Open, T16 at the Genesis Invitational and T4 at the Cognizant Classic.
Young's form dipped after those strong results, finishing T36 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T54 at the Players Championship before coming close to winning his maiden PGA Tour title with a second overall at the Valspar Championship and placing T9 at the Masters last weekend.
The American golfer has featured twice at the RBC Heritage, placing T3 in 2022 and T51 in 2023.
Young will have every chance to lift the trophy at the Harbour Town Golf Links after the results he has achieved this season.
Verdict
McIlroy has been thereabouts for a while and is overdue a win on the PGA Tour.
Fleetwood played well at the recent Masters and will fancy his chances to come out on top at the RBC Heritage this weekend.
Zalatoris has achieved excellent results this season and will be challenging for the title in South Carolina.
Young has been knocking on the door and offers excellent value at the Harbour Town Golf Links.
