They began August with back-to-back wins, beating Miami 4-2 and 5-3 at home, only to then lose their next two games, 4-3 and 7-0, to split the series.
Atlanta’s form collapsed as they were then swept at home in a three-game series with Milwaukee, losing 10-0, 8-5 and 16-7 as they gave up a bunch of runs.
The Braves then opened this road trip in Colorado, where they suffered 6-5 and 9-8 defeats either side of an 11-8 win over the Rockies.

The Giants won five of their last six games in July, and then opened August with a 3-0 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.
They dropped the next game 6-4, only to bounce back and win the series finale 8-2, before heading to Washington for a 4-1 series-opening win.
San Francisco again failed to back up a series-opening victory as they lost 11-5 to the Nationals, but they did respond with 7-4 and 9-5 victories to wrap up that series.
The Giants then returned home to win back-to-back games against Detroit, 3-2 and 3-1, only to miss out on the series sweep as they lost the final meeting, 5-4.

The betting underdog has won in a bunch of Atlanta's games recently and they have just beaten San Francisco on back-to-back nights, so we are riding with the Braves in this one.
