Baltimore enter this series on a rough run of form, having now lost six ox their previous nine games.
The Orioles enjoyed a good run in early May as they won seven times during an eight-game spell – a sequence that included a win over the New York Yankees and a sweep of Cincinnati.
Their form dipped when they lost 9-2 to Arizona and 3-2 to Toronto, but they did respond by beating Toronto 3-2.
Baltimore then sandwiched a 4-3 defeat to Seattle with 9-2 and 6-3 wins over the Mariners, before heading back out on the road.
The Orioles travelled to St Louis for a three-game series, and having lost the series opener 6-3, they lost both halves of Wednesday's double-header, 3-1 and 5-4.
Chicago White Sox Form
Chicago come into this series with Baltimore on a bad run of form, having suffered defeat in seven of their last 10 games.
The White Sox enjoyed a hot streak earlier this month when they backed up a 4-1 win in Tampa with three consecutive home wins over Cleveland, beating the Guardians 3-2, 6-3 and 3-1.
They missed out on the series sweep as they lost the final meeting 7-0, but they did bounce back against Washington as they responded to a 6-3 defeat with 4-0 and 2-0 wins.
However, Chicago failed to keep that win sequence going when they visited New York, where they lost all three meetings with the Yankees, 4-2, 6-1 and 7-2.
The White Sox were then beaten 9-3 in the series opener in Toronto, and then failed to build on a 5-0 victory as they lost the final meeting, 9-2.
Verdict
Baltimore have a big advantage at starting pitcher for this one, so we are backing the Orioles to return to winning ways.
