- Cincinnati Reds are 9-13 in their last 22 games
- Reds pitcher Nick Lodolo has allowed 4+ runs in 2 of his last 3 starts
- The Under has cashed in 6 of the previous 7 meetings
Head To Head

- Cincinnati Reds won 1-0 when the two teams last met on September 18
Chicago Cubs Form
Chicago entered this series in Cincinnati on a good run of form, having secured their place in the playoffs with seven wins from their previous eight games.
The Cubs lost three in a row earlier this month, falling 2-1 and 6-3 to Washington before suffering a 4-1 defeat in Atlanta, but they bounced back impressively.
They turned things around in Atlanta as they secured back-to-back victories over the Braves, winning 6-1 and 3-2 to close out the series.
Chicago then returned home briefly and beat Tampa Bay 6-4 and 4-3 either side of a 5-4 defeat to the Rays.
The Cubs then went back out on the road after that and clinched a postseason berth as they swept Pittsburgh in three games, winning 4-0, 4-1 and 8-4.
Cincinnati Reds Form
Cincinnati came into this series on the back of a win, but on an inconsistent run of form having gone 6-8 in their previous 14 games.
The Reds’ rollercoaster run began at home as they followed 12-9 and 13-9 losses to Toronto with a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the New York Mets.
They rallied to take the next two games against the Mets, 6-3 and 3-2, and then headed to San Diego where they rebounded from a 4-3 loss to the Padres with 4-2 and 2-1 wins.
Cincinnati failed to extend that winning sequence though, as they suffered three consecutive defeats to get swept by The Athletics, losing 3-0, 11-5 and 7-4.
The Reds fared better in St Louis however, as they recorded 11-6 and 6-2 victories either side of a 3-0 defeat to the Cardinals.
Verdict
Chicago dropped last night's encounter, but they remain the more consistent of these two teams.
Having drawn a blank last night, we expect the Cubs bats to get after Lodolo and lead the team to victory.
