Cleveland go into this series on the back of a win but in mixed form, having gone 5-5 in their previous 10 games.
The Guardians rollercoaster run started with a 4-3 defeat in Atlanta, which was followed by a 10-9 loss in Houston.
They avoided a third straight defeat with a 3-2 victory over the Astros, only to then lose 8-2 in Houston and 6-0 at home to the Los Angeles Angels.
Cleveland rallied against Los Angeles, recording 7-1 and 4-1 wins, and they then downed Detroit, 2-1 in the series opener.
The Guardians failed to make it back-to-back victories over the Tigers, losing 11-7 in the second meeting, but did rebound in the series finale, winning 5-4.
Chicago White Sox Form
Chicago enter this series having won last night, but they are in poor form overall with six defeats in their last nine games.
The White Sox swept the Rays in late April as they ended a seven-game losing skid with a 9-4 win over the Rays, which was followed by 8-7 and 4-2 victories.
They were swept at home by Minnesota though, as they were beaten 3-2, 6-5 and 10-5 by the Twins.
Chicago then lost 3-0 in St Louis, before rallying to win the next two meetings with the Cardinals, 6-5 and 5-1.
The White Sox failed to build on that in the first two games in Tampa, falling to 8-2 and 5-1 defeats, but they did avoid being swept thanks to a 4-1 victory last night.
Verdict
Cleveland are clearly the superior team, and with Ben Lively headed to the mound we expect them to draw first blood in this latest series.
