Cleveland travelled to Houston on a terrible run of form, having lost each of their previous 10 games, but they have turned things around in H-town.
Prior to Monday's victory, the Guardians had not tasted victory since the 5-4 home win over Toronto back on June 25.
That win was followed by a 6-0 shutout defeat to the Blue Jays, before they were then swept in a three game series by St Louis, 5-0, 9-6 and 7-0.
Cleveland briefly went out on the road after that and lost all three meetings with the Cubs in Chicago, losing 5-2, 5-4 and 1-0.
The Guardians then returned home to face Detroit and lost all three encounters with the Tigers, 2-1, 1-0 and 7-2, before finally stopping the rot with 7-5 and 10-6 wins over the Astros.
Houston Astros Form
Houston entered this series on a fantastic run of form, having won 11 of their previous 13 matchups, but they have now lost back-to-back meetings with Cleveland.
The Astros began this sequence with an 8-7 win at the Los Angeles Angels, which was backed up by 1-0, 2-0 and 2-1 home wins over Philadelphia.
They then won two of their three meetings with the Chicago Cubs, sandwiching a 12-3 defeat with 7-4 and 2-0 victories.
Houston went out on the road after that for a highly successful trip that saw them beat Colorado 6-5 and 5-3 before losing the final meeting 7-6.
The Astros rallied from the loss by sweeping the Dodgers in Los Angeles, winning 18-1, 6-4 and 5-1, but they now find themselves on the brink of beng swept themselves, having lost 7-5 and 10-6 to Cleveland.
Verdict
Cleveland have turned things around in this series and have now racked up 17 runs in just two games.
Houston starter Brandon Walter was lit up last time out, so we are backing the Guardians offense to fire once again.
