New York are tipped to avenge last night’s blowout loss to Detroit.
The Yankees turn to Carlos Rodon for this meeting and he has been much more reliable than Tigers starter Jack Flaherty, who struggled badly in his last outing.

The Tigers enjoyed a five-game win streak in mid-August, but saw their form collapse as they then lost 10-8 to Kansas City and were swept in three games by the Athletics.
They halted that skid with a 5-3 win in Kansas, and then rebounded from a 3-1 loss to the Royals by winning the series finale 5-0.
Detroit failed to build on that at home though as they suffered 10-8 and 12-5 defeats to the New York Mets, before winning the last meeting 6-2.
The Tigers again failed to follow up a victory as they sandwiched a 6-0 success against the Chicago White Sox with 7-5 and 6-4 defeats to end last week.
New York Yankees Form
New York came into this series as one of the in-form teams in Major League Baseball, having won 11 of their previous 14 games.
The Yankees began this run with a 7-2 victory over Boston, which they backed up by sweeping Washington with 10-5, 5-1 and 11-2 victories.
They then took their win streak to seven games with 10-4, 10-2 and 5-3 wins at the Chicago Whites Sox, only to miss out on the series sweep as they lost the finale 3-2.
New York rallied quickly from that loss though as they won 7-1 and 8-4 either side of an 8-7 defeat in Houston.
The Yankees then returned home and bounced back from a 7-1 loss to Toronto with 3-1 and 4-3 victories over the Blue Jays.
Verdict
New York’s bullpen had a rough night last night, but we expect an improved pitching performance with Rodon getting the nod.
The Yankees have been in solid form despite that blowout, so a response is likely here.
