They then swept Pittsburgh at home with 6-3, 2-1 and 5-0 wins, before heading to Washington were they swept the Nationals with 10-0, 4-2 and 6-1 victories.
St Louis’ run reach nine games with a 3-2 success in Philadelphia, but that streak was ended the following day as they lost 2-1 to the Phillies.
The Cardinals replied with a 14-7 success later that day, and they then backed that up with 10-3 and 1-0 wins at Kansas City, before losing the series finale 2-1.
Verdict
Tarik Skubal is headed to the mound and that is just what the doctor ordered for Detroit after last night's loss.
The Tigers have been stacking up wins when Skubal has started, and we expect that trend to continue.
