The Dodgers starter this sequence at home as they rebounded from a 3-0 shutout loss to Pittsburgh with 8-4 and 9-2 victories over the Pirates.
They backed that up by sweeping Miami in three games, beating the Marlins 7-6, 15-2 and 12-7.
Los Angeles’ streak reached seven games as they then went out on the road to win 2-1 and 10-3 in Atlanta, but they failed to complete the sweep as they lost the finale 4-3.
The Dodgers rebounded in Miami though, as they sandwiched a 5-4 defeat to the Marlins with 7-4 and 10-1 victories.
Arizona Diamondbacks Form
Arizona enter this series on a rough run of form, having now lost nine of their previous 14 games.
The Diamondbacks’ disappointing sequence began as they lost back-to-back meetings with Tampa Bay at home, 7-6 and 7-4.
They avoided being swept thanks to a 6-4 win over the Braves, and they then bounced back from an 8-3 loss at the New York Mets with 4-3 and 4-2 victories.
Arizona then moved on to Philadelphia where they lost back-to-back games to the Phillies, 3-2 and 7-2, before winning the series finale 11-9.
The Diamondbacks failed to build on that however, as they returned home to sandwich a 5-1 win over the Mets with 5-4 and 7-1 defeats.
Verdict
Los Angeles arrive in good form and they have historically had plenty of success against Arizona starter Brandon Pfaaft.
