Los Angeles’ streak reached seven games as they then went out on the road to win 2-1 and 10-3 in Atlanta, but they failed to complete the sweep as they lost the finale 4-3.
The Dodgers rebounded in Miami though, as they sandwiched a 5-4 defeat to the Marlins with 7-4 and 10-1 victories.
Arizona Diamondbacks Form
Arizona came into this series on a rough run of form, having lost nine of their previous 14 games.
The Diamondbacks’ disappointing run began as they lost back-to-back meetings with Tampa Bay at home, 7-6 and 7-4.
They avoided being swept thanks to a 6-4 win over the Braves, and they rebounded from an 8-3 defeat at the New York Mets with 4-3 and 4-2 wins.
Arizona then moved on to Philadelphia where they lost back-to-back games to the Phillies, 3-2 and 7-2, before winning the series finale 11-9.
The Diamondbacks failed to build on that however, as they returned home to sandwich a 5-1 victory against the Mets with 5-4 and 7-1 defeats.
Verdict
The Dodgers disappointed in the series opener, but they are still the better of the two teams.
Rodriguez has been beat up on so far this season, leading to multiple losses for the Diamondbacks, so we are backing Los Angeles to get back on track.
