Houston could not overcome home defeats in the next round though, as they lost all four home meetings with Texas in a 4-1 American League Championship Series defeat.
Unsurprisingly the Astros are fancied by many to bounce back from that disappointment in 2024, and they enter the new season having put together a 13-14 record in the Spring League.
Verdict
Carlos Rodon had a rough year in 2023, so this could be a good opportunity for Houston to get in the win column after an opening-day loss.
