They backed up those wins in San Francisco as they swept the Giants in a three-game series, winning 6-2, 7-3 and 7-5.
New York then returned home to record another series sweep, this time beating Minnesota 5-1, 9-5 and 8-4 in a three-game series.
The Yankees’ run was finally halted by 2-1 and 11-3 defeats at home to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but they avoided being swept as they closed out that series with a 6-4 victory.
Kansas City Royals Form
Kansas City came into this series with New York on the back of a defeat that slowed their recent resurgence.
The Royals lost five of their final six games in May, dropping three games in a four-game series in Minnesota before losing their first two meetings in a home series against San Diego.
They avoided being swept as they won the final meeting 4-3, but they failed to back that up in Cleveland as they lost the series opener 8-5.
Kansas City managed to split the series with a 4-3 victory over the Guardians, and they followed that up with 10-9 and 8-4 wins at home to Seattle.
The Royals failed to complete a series sweep however, losing 6-5 in their final meeting with the Mariners.
Verdict
New York are in good form and have been strong on the road this season, so we like the chances of them securing another win in Kansas City.
