Kansas City go into their final home game of this series on the brink of elimination following the defeat in Game 3.
The Royals began this series with a 6-5 road defeat to the Yankees, and then failed to build on a 4-2 win in the ‘Big Apple’ as they were beaten 3-2 at home on Wednesday night.
They earned their spot in the postseason by putting together a 86-76 record to finish second in the American League Central.
Kansas City ended the regular season on a rough run of form, losing nine of their final 13 games, but put that behind them in the Wild Card round.
The Royals headed to Baltimore for a three-game series and were able to take out the Orioles in two, winning 1-0 and 2-1.
Verdict
Kansas City have now gone seven games without a win at home, and that spells trouble for them.
New York are on a roll on the road and with Gerrit Cole getting the start, we like the Yankees to wrap things up here.
