The Phillies started the month with a couple of 7-5 defeats in Milwaukee, but avoided being swept as they took the final meeting 4-2.
They then travelled to San Diego and sandwiched an 8-0 loss with 9-7 and 5-1 victories, before losing 3-2 and 5-4 to Miami either side of an 8-4 win.
Philadelphia then went 1-3 in a four-game home series against Atlanta, splitting a Monday double-header, 8-10 and 7-5, before losing the final two games 7-6 and 4-1.
The Phillies rebounded with 5-4 and 6-1 wins in St Louis, only to lose the last meeting with the Cardinals, 6-5.
Atlanta Braves Form
Atlanta entered this series on a three-game losing skid but with a place in the playoffs secured.
The Braves started September with 6-3 and 4-2 wins at the Los Angeles Dodgers, before losing the final meeting 3-1 and back-to-back home games against St Louis, 10-6 and 11-6.
They took the final game against the Cardinals 8-5, and then sandwiched an 8-4 loss to Pittsburgh with 8-2 and 5-2 wins over the Penguins.
Atlanta then travelled to Philadelphia and won three of the four meetings, winning 10-8 and then rebounding from a 7-5 loss with 7-6 and 4-1 victories.
The Braves did not record a single win in Miami though, as they were swept by 9-6, 11-5 and 16-2 defeats.
Verdict
Spencer Strider heads to the mound for Atlanta tonight, so we expect them to avenge Monday's loss to Philadelphia.
