Seattle come into this series with Los Angeles on the back of a couple of road wins over the San Diego Padres.
The Mariners ended June with back-to-back defeats at home to Minnesota, losing 5-1 and 5-3 to the Twins.
Their losing skid then reached four games in their first two outings in July, as they were beaten at home by Baltimore, losing 2-0 and 4-1.
Seattle halted that losing skid with a 7-3 victory over Baltimore, and backed that up with a 2-1 success against Toronto.
The Mariners failed to keep that winning run going as they lost the next two games against the Blue Jays, 5-4 and 5-4, but they did rebound in San Diego, winning 8-3 and 2-0.
Los Angeles Angels Form
Los Angeles enter this series looking to buiild on last night's win over Texas, which ended a three-game losing run.
The Angels enjoyed a good run in late June as they reeled off six consecutive wins, sweeping Oakland in three games before taking the first three meetings with Detroit.
They dropped the final game against the Tigers though, 7-6, and that sparked a downturn in results that saw them lose 7-5, 5-0 and 5-0 in Oakland.
Los Angeles then headed to Chicago for a three-game series with the Cubs, and sandwiched a 7-0 loss with 5-1 and 7-0 wins.
The Angels then returned home for a series with Texas and saw their skid reach four games with 9-4 and 5-4 losses to the Rangers, before winning the final matchup 7-2.
Verdict
Seattle come up against a starting pitcher making his MLB debut, and we expect them to make it a baptism of fire for Jack Kochanowicz.
