Texas enter this matchup looking to get back on track after losing for the fourth time in five games last night.
The Rangers opened the season with back-to-back home wins over the Chicago Cubs, winning 4-3 and 11-2 before dropping the final meeting, 9-5.
They then went out on the road for the first time and sandwiched a 5-2 defeat at Tampa Bay with 9-3 and 4-1 wins over the Rays.
Texas returned home after that and made a flying start to the series with Houston, winning the first two meetings 10-2 and 7-2.
The Rangers lost the next two meetings though, 3-1 and 10-5, and then sandwiched a 6-2 win over Oakland with 4-3 and 1-0 defeats.
Houston Astros Form
Houston come into tonight's game having just been swept in a three-game series in Kansas City.
The Astros made a miserable start to the season as they were swept at home by the New York Yankees, losing 5-4, 7-1, 5-3 and 4-3.
They finally got off the mark with a 10-0 win over Toronto, and then bounced back from a 2-1 defeat with an 8-0 shutout of the Blue Jays.
Houston failed to build on that win as they lost 10-2 and 7-2 at Texas, but they did rebound to split the series with 3-1 and 10-5 victories.
The Astros failed to keep that winning run going in Kansas City though, as they lost 4-3, 11-2 and 13-3 to the Royals.
Verdict
Both teams are in rough form, but Texas have made the better start to the season and they have had Houston's number in recent times, especially on the road.
