San Diego’s spluttering form continued in San Francisco as they lost 3-2 either side of a 4-0 victory over the Giants.
The Padres fared better when they returned home though, sandwiching a 5-1 defeat to the Chicago Cubs with 9-8 and 10-2 wins.
Los Angeles Dodgers Form
Los Angeles go into this game on the back of a defeat, but having made a strong start to the season with 10 wins in 15 games.
The Dodgers split the opening series with San Diego, and backed that up against St Louis as they won three of the four meetings.
They then recorded their first series sweep of the 2024 campaign as they won all three home games against San Francisco, 8-3, 5-4 and 5-4.
Los Angeles form dipped in Chicago as they lost 9-7 and 8-1 either side of a 4-1 victory, but they responded in Minnesota.
The Dodgers beat the Twins 4-2 and 6-3, before suffering a narrow defeat in the final meeting, losing 3-2.
Verdict
Los Angeles are the better team in better form, so we expect Los Angeles to bounce back from the series-ending loss in Minnesota.
