Denver Nuggets Form
Denver head back out on the road having had just one day’s rest since the final game of the series with the LA Clippers.
The Nuggets, who reached the postseason with a 50-32 record, enjoyed a winning start to the playoffs with a 112-110 overtime victory at home.
They then handed the advantage to the Clippers with a 105-102 home defeat, before heading to LA for a 117-83 loss.
Denver rallied on the road with a 101-99 victory, and then returned home for a 131-115 win that put them on the brink of clinching.
The Nuggets passed up the chance as they lost 111-105 in LA, but they rebounded in a winner-takes all Game 7 showdown, beating the Clippers 120-101 to advance.
Oklahoma City Thunder Form
Oklahoma City enter this series having enjoyed a week’s rest thanks to their series sweep of Memphis in the first round.
The Thunder set the standard during the regular season as they compiled a league-best a 68-14 record to finish atop the Western Conference.
That dominance continued as they opened the postseason by sweeping aside the Grizzlies.
Oklahoma City opened up at home and recorded back-to-back blowout victories, beating Memphis 131-80 and 118-99.
The Thunder then completed the job as they went out on the road to win 114-108 and 117-115 at the FedEx Forum.
Verdict
Oklahoma City face a tougher test in the second round, but we expect them to pass it.
The Thunder have been in tremendous form at home, and unlike Denver they will be well rested since the four-game mauling of Memphis.
