Los Angeles started this playoff series on the road and dropped back-to-back games in Denver, losing 114-103 and 101-99.
The Lakers then went 3-0 down as they lost 112-105 in Game 3, but they did stave off elimination with a 119-108 victory in Game 4.
Denver Nuggets Form
Denver return home looking to bounce back from a Game 4 defeat and book their place in the next round.
The Nuggets marched into the postseason with a 57-25 record that earned them second place in the Western Conference.
They entered the playoffs in good form too, having won four of the final five games on their schedule to set up this meeting with Los Angeles.
Denver drew first blood as they downed the Lakers 114-103 in the opening game, and backed that up in the Game 2 as they came back from 20 points to win 101-99 courtesy of a buzzer-beater.
The Nuggets had no such issues in their first road game of the series, winning 112-105, but they missed out on a series sweep as they were beaten 119-108 in Game 4.
Verdict
Denver missed out on the chance to clinch on Saturday, but we do not expect them to pass up the chance to wrap things up at home.
Despite the weekend defeat, Denver have dominated the Los Angeles Lakers over the past couple of seasons.
