Minnesota go into the second game of this series looking to rebound from a total collapse in the series opener.
The Timberwolves shot terribly in the second half of the game, as they were beaten 114-88 at Oklahoma City.
They had entered the Western Conference Finals on a dominant run, going 8-2 to book their place in the Western Conference Finals.
Minnesota opened the postseason with a 117-95 victory over the Lakers in Los Angeles, giving them an early upper-hand in the series.
The Timberwolves then bounced back from a 94-85 defeat with 116-104, 116-113 and 103-96 wins to clinch their place in the second round with a 4-1 series win.
They made a losing start to the series with Golden State, but they again issued a complete response to a defeat.
Having lost 99-88 at home in Game 1, Minnesota reeled off four straight wins to advance, beating the Warriors 117-93, 102-97, 117-110 and 121-110.
Oklahoma City Thunder Form
Oklahoma City enter this matchup looking to build on their Game 1 victory and take a 2-0 lead out on the road.
The Thunder dominated Minnesota in the second half of Tuesday’s game, wrapping up a 114-88 victory to draw first blood.
They had entered the Western Conference Finals on the back of a marathon series, but having only played one more game than the Timberwolves.
Oklahoma City made no mistakes as they swept Memphis in four games in the first round, winning 131-80, 118-99, 114-108 and 117-115.
The Thunder found their second-round series much tougher however, as they went the full seven games with Denver.
They fell behind early as they sandwiched a 149-106 win with 121-119 and 113-104 (OT) defeats, but they turned it around with three wins over the next four games.
Oklahoma City won the next two meetings with the Nuggets, 92-87 and 112-105, before responding to a 119-107 defeat with a series-clinching 125-93 victory.
Verdict
Oklahoma City took the first game and are rightly favorites to back it up in Game 2.
However, Minnesota are the more reliable spread bet and are unlikely to shoot as badly as they did in Game 1, so we are taking the Timberwolves and the free buckets.
