The Pelicans struggled for consistency during the second half of January and late in the month lost three straight games.
They were beaten 107-83 at home by Oklahoma City, before heading out on the road to lose 141-117 in Milwaukee and 118-112 in Boston.
New Orleans stopped the rot on the road though, beating Houston 110-99 before downing the Spurs in San Antonio, 114-113.
The Pelicans then made it three-in-a-row when they briefly returned home to blow out Toronto 138-100.
LA Clippers Form
LA enter this matchup in fantastic form, having won each of their last eight games and 17 of the last 20.
The Clippers enjoyed a four-game win streak over the course of late December and early January, and then responded from a loss by winning three of the next four.
They responded to a 109-105 defeat in Minnesota that saw them win at home against Oklahoma City, 128-117, Brooklyn 125-114, and the Los Angeles Lakers, 127-116.
LA then went out on the road to beat Toronto 127-107 and Boston 115-96, before seeing their streak end with a 118-108 defeat in Cleveland.
The Clippers immediately responded though, winning 125-109 in Washington, 136-125 at Detroit, 103-95 in Miami and 149-144 at Atlanta.
