Orlando Magic Form
Orlando claimed their place in the playoffs by compiling a 41-41 record and successfully negotiating the Play-in Tournament.
The Magic ended the regular season by winning nine of their final 12 games; a run that started with a three-game win streak.
They dropped two of the next three, but responded with a five-game win streak that saw hem beat San Antonio 116-105, Washington 109-96, Atlanta 119-112, Boston, 96-76, and Indiana 129-115.
Orlando's streak was ended by a 117-105 defeat in Atlanta, but they avenged that loss in the Play-In Tournament as they beat the Hawks 120-95.
The Magic failed to follow that up in their playoff opener though, as they were beaten 103-86 in Boston.
Boston Celtics Form
Boston secured their spot in the postseason by compiling a 61-21 record to finish second in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Celtics ended the regular season on a fantastic run of form, winning 19 of their last 22 games, and that run that included a nine-game win streak that saw them win eight times on the road.
Their tear was ended by a 124-103 defeat to Miami, but they bounced back to win the next three, downing Phoenix 123-103, Washington 124-90 and New York 119-117 in overtime.
Boston then lost 96-76 in Orlando, only to rebound with back-to-back home wins against Charlotte, 130-94 and 93-86.
The Celtics then made it three-in-a-row in their playoff opener, as they beat Orlando 103-86 to take a 1-0 series lead.
Verdict
Boston have not been the most reliable of spread bets, but we cannot ignore the job they did on Orlando in Game 1.
The Celtics won and covered when hosting the Magic once again, and we are expecting repeat scenes in Game 2.
