The 76ers started March with back-to-back wins, beating Charlotte 121-114 and Dallas 120-116, but their form soon nose-dived.
A 112-107 defeat in Brooklyn was followed by back-to-back home losses, as they fell 115-109 to Memphis and 103-95 to New Orleans.
Philadelphia avoided a fourth straight loss with a 79-73 win in New York, but they failed to follow that up as they lost the second half of that double-header with the Knicks, 106-79.
The 76ers then lost 114-105 in Milwaukee, but steadied the ship when they returned home to beat Charlotte 109-98 and Miami 98-91.
Phoenix Suns Form
Phoenix return home on the back of a loss that saw their inconsistent run of form in March continue.
The Suns started the month with back-to-back defeats at home, falling to Houston, 118-109, and Oklahoma City, 118-110.
They avoided a third straight loss by winning 117-107 in overtime in Denver, and then backed that up with a 120-113 victory at home to Toronto.
However, since then Phoenix have sandwiched a 117-111 win in Cleveland with a couple of defeats to Boston, losing 117-107 at home and 127-112 on the road.
The Suns then failed to follow up a 107-96 win in Charlotte as they were beaten 140-129 at Milwaukee.
Verdict
Philadelphia have leaned on defense to pick up some wins recently, and that approach could help them cover the spread as an underdog in this one.
