The Spurs opened the season with a 125-92 victory in Dallas, and that proved to be the start of a five-game tear.
They backed up that victory with a 120-116 overtime win in New Orleans, and then won three straight at home.
San Antonio downed Brooklyn 118-107, and followed that up by beating Toronto 121-103 and Miami 107-101.
The Spurs failed to make it to 6-0 however, as their perfect start was finally brought to an end by a 130-118 defeat in Phoenix at the start of the week.
Los Angeles Lakers Form
Los Angeles enter this matchup as one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, having won four straight to reach 6-2.
The Lakers opened the season with a 119-109 home defeat to Golden State, but they rebounded quickly from that early setback.
They beat Minnesota 128-110 at home, before heading to Sacramento where they took down the Kings, 127-120.
Los Angeles failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 122-108 by Portland, but they rebounded immediately with a 116-115 victory at Minnesota.
The Lakers then backed that up by sandwiching a 130-120 win at home to Miami with road victories at Memphis, 117-112, and Portland, 123-115.

San Antonio are off to a strong start, but Los Angeles have been on a roll over the past week.
