The Tigers enjoyed a dominant run during the regular season, including a 14-game win streak, but they cooled off late on by losing their final two outings.
They rebounded in their first game of the conference tournament, beating Mississippi 62-57, only to crash out in the next game as they lost 70-65 to Tennessee.
Auburn have put that disappointment behind them to advance to the Sweet 16 of March Madness.
The Tigers opened their campaign with an 83-63 win over Alabama State, and followed that up with an 82-70 success against Creighton.

Michigan enter this Sweet 16 showdown on a good run of form, having won five straight tournament matchups.
The Wolverines ended the regular season on a low note as they lost their final three games, but they rebounded in the best possible fashion.
They booked their place in the Big Ten tournament final thanks to an 86-68 win over Purdue and an 81-80 success against Maryland.
Michigan then claimed the conference tournament crown with a 59-53 victory over Wisconsin in the final.
The Wolverines have kept that run going during the first two rounds of March Madness, beating UC San Diego 68-65 and Texas A&M 91-79.
