However, they failed to make it to the final as they suffered a surprise 76-75 overtime defeat to Wisconsin.
Purdue have put that disappointment behind them at the national tournament, beating Grambling State 78-50 and Utah State 106-67 to cruise into the Sweet 16.
There the Boilermakers downed Gonzaga, 80-68, before securing their place in their Final Four spot with a 72-66 win over Tennessee in the Elite Eight.

NC State enter this game on a red-hot run of form that has seen them spring a bunch of upsets during a nine-game win streak.
The Wolfpack ended the regular season cold, as they lost each of their final four games on the schedule.
They stopped the rot at the ACC tournament though, as they beat Louisville 94-85, Syracuse 83-65, Duke 74-69 and Virginia 73-65 in overtime, and then upset North Carolina 84-76 in the final.
NC State kept that run going at the national tournament, starting with an 80-67 win over Texas Tech and a 79-73 overtime victory against Oakland.
The Wolfpack then upset Marquette 67-58 in the Sweet 16, before dumping out Duke in the Elite Eight, 76-64.

Purdue are expected to advance from this matchup, but the bookies are offering a lot of points here.
