The Buckeyes compiled an almost flawless regular season record a year ago, as they reeled off 11 consecutive wins.
That win streak included a 21-10 home win against #5 Notre Dame and a 44-31 victory at #13 Penn State.
However, Ohio State saw their perfect run come to an abrupt halt when they lost 45-23 to fierce rivals #3 Michigan in their final regular season game.
That loss did not prevent the Buckeyes from making it to the playoffs, but they suffered a heart-breaking exit when they lost 42-41 to #1 Georgia in the Peach Bowl, losing to a last-gasp touchdown.
Indiana Form
Indiana enter the 2023 season looking to perform better than they did a year ago, when they went just 4-8.
The Hoosiers opened the season with a three-game win streak, following up a 23-20 victory over Illinois with a 35-22 win against Idaho and a 33-30 victory at home to Western Kentucky.
Their form nose-dived after that though, with a 45-24 defeat at Cincinnati sparking a seven-game losing skid.
During that time Indiana were beaten 31-10 by #4 Michigan, 45-14 by #16 Penn State and 56-14 at #2 Ohio State.
The Hoosiers stopped the rot briefly with a 39-31 win at Michigan State, but they failed to follow that up as they lost to Purdue in their regular season finale, 30-16.
Verdict
Ohio State have had Indiana’s number for the past 27 years and there is little reason to think that will not continue in 2023.
