Western Kentucky go into the Conference USA Championship having rebounded from back-to-back defeats with a win over Jacksonville State.
The Hilltoppers, who went 2-2 in non-conference play, opened their Conference USA schedule with a run of five consecutive victories.
They won 49-21 at Middle Tennessee State and 44-17 against UTEP, before recording back-to-back 31-14 wins against Sam Houston and Kennesaw State.
Western Kentucky made it to 5-0 with a 41-28 victory at New Mexico State, only to then cool off with a 12-7 loss to Louisiana Tech and a 39-21 loss to Liberty.
The Hilltoppers did win their regular season finale though, beating Jacksonville State 19-17 at home.

Jacksonville State enter the championship game on the back of a loss, but having won eight of their previous nine games.
The Gamecocks lost their first three games of the season, including their conference opener at Eastern Michigan 37-34, before finally getting off the mark with a 44-7 blowout of Southern Mississippi.
That proved to be the start of an eight-game streak as they won seven straight in Conference USA, starting with a 63-24 win at Kennesaw State.
Jacksonville State then beat New Mexico State 54-13 and Middle Tennessee State 42-20 at home, before heading out on the road to down Liberty 31-21 and Louisiana Tech 44-37.
The Gamecocks’ streak continued with home wins over Florida International, 34-31, and Sam Houston, 21-11, before finally ending with last week’s 19-17 loss at Western Kentucky.

Jacksonville State lost to Western Kentucky last weekend, but that game was on the road.
