Chicago head to Minnesota on their best run of form in years, having won six of their last seven games to reach 6-3.
The Bears made a miserable start to the season as they blew a lead to lose 27-24 at home to Minnesota, and then suffered a 52-21 blowout defeat in Detroit.
They rallied at home to Dallas though, beating the Cowboys 31-14, and then registered back-to-back 25-24 road wins over Las Vegas and Washington, blocking a walk-off field goal against the Raiders before converting one against the Commanders.
Chicago then made it four-in-a-row with a 26-14 victory over New Orleans, only to see their run end with a 30-16 defeat in Baltimore.
The Bears have bounced back though, staging sensational last-gasp fightbacks to win 47-42 in Cincinnati and 24-20 at home to the New York Giants.
Minnesota Vikings Form
Minnesota enter this matchup having now lost three of their previous four games to fall to 4-5.
The Vikings opened the season with a 27-24 victory in Chicago, but they failed to develop any momentum over the next few weeks.
They lost 22-6 to Atlanta in their home opener, and then failed to follow up a 48-10 blowout of Cincinnati as they were beaten 24-21 at Pittsburgh.
Minnesota replied with a 21-17 success in Cleveland, but they were again unable to back up a victory as they lost 28-22 at home to Philadelphia and 37-10 at the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Vikings avoided a third-straight loss, upsetting Detroit in a 27-24 victory on the road, only to be brought back down to Earth by a 27-19 loss at home to Baltimore last weekend.
Verdict
Chicago’s knack for last-gasp comebacks will not last forever, but it is impossible to overlook just how good Caleb Williams and the offense is in the fourth quarter.
