Minnesota Vikings at Dallas Cowboys Preview & Picks

Dallas are tipped to cover as they bounce back from the loss to Detroit.

Minnesota quarterback JJ McCarthy is coming off his best performance so far, but he does not have the talent to keep pace with Dak Prescott and this explosive Cowboys offense.

  • Dallas Cowboys are 3-1 in their last 4 home games
  • Dallas Cowboys are 3-1-0 ATS in their previous 4 games
  • Minnesota Vikings are 0-8-0 ATS in all 8 of their defeats
  • The Over has cashed in 8 of Dallas’ last 10 games

Head To Head

  • Dallas Cowboys lead the all-time series 19-15
  • Dallas Cowboys won 40-3 when the two teams last met in November 2022

Minnesota Vikings Form

Minnesota head to AT&T Stadium having ended a four-game losing skid to improve their record to 5-8.

The Vikings opened the season with a 27-24 victory in Chicago, but struggled for consistency over the first five weeks of the season as they went 3-2.

They fell below .500 for the first time in the second half of October, as they lost 28-22 to Philadelphia and 37-10 at the Los Angeles Chargers, and things went from bad to worse after that.

Minnesota failed to build on a 27-24 upset of Detroit as they lost 27-19 to Baltimore, 19-17 to Chicago, 23-6 at Green Bay and 26-0 in Seattle.

The Vikings did avoid a fifth straight defeat though, as they shut out Washington in a 31-0 victory last weekend.

Dallas Cowboys Form

Dallas enter this matchup looking to issue an immediate response to their defeat to Detroit, which dropped them to 6-6-1.

The Cowboys kicked off the campaign with a 24-20 defeat at Philadelphia, and then failed to follow up the 40-37 win over the New York Giants as they lost 31-14 in Chicago and tied 40-40 with Green Bay at home.

They finally notched their second win on October 5 as they beat the New York Jets 37-22, and they then issued an immediate response to the 30-27 loss to Carolina by beating Washington 44-22.

Dallas again failed to back up a victory, losing 44-24 in Denver, and that was followed by a shock 27-17 defeat when they hosted Arizona.

The Cowboys rallied with a three-game win streak, beating Las Vegas 33-16, Philadelphia 24-21 and Kansas City 31-28, but that run was ended by a 44-30 loss at Detroit last time out.

Verdict

Hat’s off to McCarthy and the Vikings for last week’s blowout win, but we expect Dallas to issue a reality check.

The Cowboys offense continues to roll and JJ McCarthy is not Jared Goff – it is tough to see him keeping pace with Prescott & Co.
