Carolina then rebounded from a 4-1 loss to Washington with a 4-3 overtime victory against Vancouver, only to then lose 4-3 in overtime when they hosted Edmonton.
The Hurricanes again rebounded quickly from a loss, beating Boston 3-2, but failed to back that up as they lost via a shootout at Minnesota, 4-3.

Winnipeg enter this matchup on an improved run of form, having won three of their previous four games to improve to 12-7.
The Jets opened the season with a loss, but rebounded emphatically from that early setback by winning nine of their next 11 games.
They cooled off in early November though, as they lost 3-0 in Los Angeles and then suffered further defeats at San Jose, 2-1, and Anaheim, 4-1.
Winnipeg avoided a fourth straight loss with a 5-3 victory in Vancouver, only to move on to Seattle for a 5-3 defeat to the Kraken.
The Jets have not lost since though, following up a 4-3 shootout success in Calgary with a 5-2 win at home to Columbus.
Verdict
Winnipeg appear to have got back on track in recent days and they are scoring consistently.
