Los Angeles enter this matchup on the back of a win over Minnesota, but in poor form with eight defeats in their last 11 games.
The Kings’ rough run started in the middle of December as they lost back-to-back overtime games to Seattle, 3-2, and Calgary, 2-1, before falling 4-1 in Dallas and 3-2 at Florida.
They avoided a fifth straight loss with a 2-1 success in Tampa, only to then return home and lose 3-1 to Columbus and 3-2 to Seattle.
Los Angeles wrapped up that home stand with a 6-1 victory over Colorado, but again failed to back up a victory as they lost 5-2 in Colorado and 5-3 at home to Tampa.
The Kings did end last week on a positive note however, as they won the first half of this double-header with Minnesota via a shootout, 5-4.
