The Stars finally stopped the rot as they beat Carolina 3-2 at home, and they have backed that up with a 3-2 win in Nashville and a 1-0 victory at home to Washington.

The Lightning made a rough start as they dropped back-to-back home games, 5-4 to Ottawa and 2-0 to New Jersey.
