The Stars finished top of the Central Division with a 52-21-9 regular-season record, but they dug themselves into an early hole in this playoff series.
They played host to Vegas for the opening two games, and fell to defeat in both of those outings, losing 4-3 and 3-1 to the Golden Knights.
Dallas issued an impressive response on the road though, as they knotted up the series by backing up a 3-2 overtime win with a 4-2 victory in regulation.
The Stars then claimed the series lead for the first time, as they returned home for Game 5 and beat Vegas 3-2.

Vegas return home in desperate need of a win after losing three straight games to leave themselves on the brink of elimination.
The Golden Knights put together a 45-29-8 record in the regular season to finish fourth in the Pacific Division, and they made a strong start to the playoffs.
They went out on the road for the first two games and were able to record back-to-back victories in Dallas, beating the Stars 4-3 and 3-1.
However, Vegas failed to take advantage of those wins as they returned home to suffer back-to-back defeats, losing 3-2 in overtime and 4-2 in regulation.
The Golden Knights then went back out on the road and suffered a 3-2 defeat in Game 5, meaning one more defeat will end their season.
Verdict
Dallas have turned this series around with three straight wins, and we like their chances of completing the fightback in Vegas.
