Los Angeles head to the ‘Windy City’ struggling for consistency, having gone 4-5 in their last nine games.
The Kings started this sequence with a couple of 4-2 defeats on the road, losing in Edmonton and Calgary.
They rebounded with a 5-1 victory in Vancouver, and then returned home to beat New Jersey by the same score.
Los Angeles then bounced back from a 2-1 overtime defeat to Vancouver by beating Ottawa 4-3 in overtime, but they failed to follow that up as they then lost 4-1 at home to Dallas.
The Kings responded by shutting out the New York Islanders in a 3-0 win, only to then lose 3-1 when they visited St Louis.
Chicago Blackhawks Form
Chicago come into this matchup in decent form, having now won three of their last four games.
The Blackhawks embarked on a miserable run of form between late January and early March, as they lost 15 times in a 16-game spell.
That sequence included eight-game and seven-game losing skids, with the latter finally ending via a 5-2 victory in Arizona.
Chicago failed to back that up immediately as they lost 4-1 in Washington, but since returning home they have gone 2-0.
The Blackhawks beat Arizona 7-4 and then followed that up with a 7-2 blowout of Anaheim, meaning they now have a shot at their first three-game win streak of the season.
Verdict
Chicago's flurry does nothing to erase the fact that they are a terrible team, so we expect the Kings to leave the 'Windy City' with a 'W'.
